Arrhythmia after operation of esophageal carcinoma:A clinical analysis

  • Objectives To study the risk factors for arrhythmia after operation of esophageal carcinoma and its clinical management. Methods Clinical data about 422 patients with esophageal carcinoma after operation were retrospectively analyzed.Clinical treatment of arrhythmia was summzrized. Results Among the 422 patients with esophogeal carcinoma, arrhythmia occurred in 118 after operation, accounting for 27.9%.Of these 118 patients,58 had their arrhythmia alleviated 72h after operation and 60 had a rather good outcome after treatment with drugs, with a good prognosis. The occurrence of arrhythmia was related with advanced age(>65 years),chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),anastomosis above the aortic arch and operation time(>270min).Conclusion Age,COPD,large operation wound and long operation time are closely correlated with arrhythmia in patients with esophogeal carcinoma after operation. Thus, more attention should be paid to the prevention and treatment of arrhythmia, and different types of arrhythmia should be treated differently.
