Clinical analysis of 28 cases of acute myocardial infarction in the elderly

Abstract
Twenty-eight cases of AMI in the elderly aged more than 80 year with an average of 83.25were studied.11 cases were males while 17 females,with a ratio of 1:1.5.The prevalence ofAMI was 60.7%.and the incidece of cases with the atypical symptom (no chest pain)was 50%.Inferior wall of the heart was more fregueutly involved.The main complications were heart failure,cardiogenic shock and ventricular extrasystoles.As the result of treatment,the death rate is 42.8%higher than that reported.Eventually,the problem of AMI concerning diagnosis;complication,andespeciality of treatment,were discussed.
