The application of cDNA microarray to the study of LRP16 gene’s effects on mature adipocytes

  • Objective: To study LRP16 gene’s effects on mature adipocytes and its potential clinical significance. Methods: High-flux microarray technology was employed to analyze the genes differentially expressed between the experimental group which overexpressed LRP16 and the control group.Public database was also used to analyze the probable signaling pathways and target genes which LRP16 may be involved in. Results: The number of genes differentially expressed between the two groups is 1 222,of which 653 were up,and 569 down. The involved signaling pathways were insulin resistance, glucose and lipid metabolism, adipocyte differentiation and so on. Conclusion: LRP16’s function is to promote the(micro-)inflammation,and it may have an impact on insulin resistance and glucose and lipid metabolism.
