Abstract
Objective To observe the changes of multiple organ function in rats with liver-qi stagnation syndrome. Methods A rat liver-qi stagnation model was induced by independent chronic bandage feeding.Changes of behaviors in rats were evaluated by open-field test.Serum motilin(MTL) and interleukin-2(IL-2) levels were measured by radioimmunoassay.Changes in body mass index, thymus and spleen index, gastric empting and intestinal peristalsis were observed. Results The amount of horizontal and vertical movements was smaller, the growth of body mass index was slower, the gastric empting time was shorter, while the thymus index, serum motilin and IL-2 level were lower in rats with liver-qi stagnation syndrome than in controls(P<0.05). Conclusion Liver-qi stagnation syndrome can lead to changes of multiple organ function in rats.
