Effect of hydrochloride naloxone and the prognosis of traumatic brain injury after alcohol-intoxicated

Abstract
Objective:To study the prognosis of alcohol-intoxicated patients after traumatic brain injuries and the treatment effect of hydrochloride naloxone on them.Methods:Patients suffered from traumatic brain injuries between 2000 Jan and 2005 Jan in our hospital were investigated to observe the effects of alcohol-intoxication on traumatic brain injury.The alcohol-intoxicated patients and non-alcohol-intoxicated patients were randomly assigned.The patients in group A and C were treated with naloxone,and the patients in group B and D were treated with almost the same methods except naloxone.Results:There were statistically significant differences in terms of the prognosis of alcohol-intoxicated patients and non-alcohol-intoxicated patients(P<0.05).Naloxone did benefit to patients with traumatic brain injury(P<0.05).Conclusions:The prognosis of the alcohol-intoxicated patients suffered from severe traumatic brain injury is worse and Naloxone could improve the treatment effect.
