THE EVALUATION OF CT IN VARIOUS DISEASES OF THE HEAD AND BODY (A REVIW OF 2029 CASES)

The experiences with 2029 cases of CT scans of the head and body during a peri-od of 1 1/2 years examined with Pfizer 0450-D5 CT scanner are presented. The mechan-ism of CT scan is briefly reviewed. Normal and abnormal CT findings of the head and body are described. The positive rate of CT localization of lesions is about 99.7％. and the CT diagnosis is consistant with the pathological findings in 91.7％ of cases. The authors conclude that CT scan is one of the best methods for the diagnosis of the majority of lesions of the head. mediastinum. liver. pancreas. kidney. retroperitoneum and pelvis. The value of contrast enhancement scanning is especially emphasized.
