Psychological characteristic and nursing of adult malocclusion

Objective: To investigate the psychological characteristic of adult orthodontics. Methods: 164 adult patients ageing from 18 to 40 years old were randomly selected as research group. 164 young patients ageing from 8 to 16 years old were selected as control group. The study was conducted through interview, inventory and follow-up.Results: The number of female patients was more than male in adult orthodontics therapy. 86.72%patients were therapy for teeth beauty.76.51% patients had restrictive orthodontics therapy. Different psychological changes were found in therapy. Conclusion: The psychological characteristic of adult orthodontics patients was different from young patients. So these patients should be respected in therapy and good care should be paid for them,especially for the patients of mental disorder.
