Effect of photodynamic therapy on condyloma acuminatum and nursing of patients

Objective To observe the effects of 5-aminolevulinic acid-photodynamic therapy（ALA-PDT） on genital warts and nursing of the patients. Methods Eighty-four condyloma acuminatum（CA） patients were treated with ALA-PDT.CA was confirmed in 84 patients.The lesions were compressed for 3 hours and irradiated with laser at the wavelength of 635nm and at energy density of 100J/m².The effect and side effect were observed after 1 week.The patints were followed up for 3 months to observe recurrence rate. Results After PDT,the healing rate of CA was 97.6%.CA recurred in 25 patients during the 3-month follow-up period with a recurrence rate of 29.7%. Conclusion ALA-PDT is an efficient treatment modality for CA.
