An experimental study of nimodipine and TRH for treating acute secondary brain injury in guinea pigs

Both nimodipine and TRH are new drugs for treating secondary traumatic brain damage.The ef-fects of these two drugs on the model of regional brain injury in guinea pigs were assessed by measuring thebrain water content,Evans blue extravasation and blood CK,Ca and LDH values,and the histopatho logicalfindings under light and electron microscope;The results showed that the effects of nimodipine and TRHgroups were favourtable than that of the control group.It also showed the effects of nimodipine group werebeffer than the TRH group as compared with the control group（P＜0.05）.
