An observation on the variation of myocardial enzyme spectrum in serum of 88 patients with SARS

Objective:To find out the relation between the severity of SARS symptoms and the variation of myocardial enzyme spectrum and it’s clinical significance.Methods:myocardial enzyme spectrum were measured by the method IFCC recommended. Results:In the initial course of SARS，The activity of each myocardial enzyme in each SARS were significantly higher than those of the normal group （P＜0.01）；The activity of each myocardial enzyme in serum of death group were significantly higher than other groups （P＜0.01）；The activity of myocardial enzyme in 93.6% of serum samples from death group rose abnormally ，and the rate of survival group is 33%.In the middle stage of SARS，the activity of myocardial enzyme in serum of SARS patients decreased，but the activity of HBDH in serum from death groups and intensive symptoms groups didn’t decrease.Conclusion:Myocardium is one of the important tissue invaded and damaged by SARS virus.The abnormal rise of myocardial enzyme in SARS patients relate closely to the patient’s condition and prognosis.
