Measurement and analysis of anterior segment of rabbit eyes with pentacam

Objective To provide the evidence for establishing the animal model of eye diseases by measuring the parameters of the anterior segment of rabbit eyes with pentacam.Methods Central corneal thickness,anterior and anterior surface curvature of cornea,thickness of corneal thinnest point,anterior chamber angle and depth,anterior and posteriorrefraction in 20 rabbits（20 eyes） were measured,respectively,with pentacam.Results The average central corneal thickness and the average thickness of corneal thinnest point of rabbit eyes were（390.06±59.46）μm and（356.84±60.08）μm,respectively.The average anterior and posterior refractions of rabbit eyes were（45.75±3.95）D and（-6.05±0.37）D,respectively.The anterior chamber volume and depth of rabbit eyes were（176.88±42.99）mm³ and（2.10±0.27）mm,respectively.The average anterior chamber angle of rabbit eyes was（27.93±6.78）o.Conclusion Pentacam can be used in measuring the normal parameters of the anterior segment of rabbit eyes.
