Concentration of cobalt（Co), chromium（Cr), molybdenum(Mo) in hair, liver and kidney and their effects on dogs with vitallium hip replacement

Co, Cr and Mo were determined in the hair, liver and kidney of dogs with and without vitallium hip. The result appeared to show no increase in the duration from 1 to 8 months and there was no statistical significant difference in all of these three elements between experimental (10 dogs) and control (10 dogs) groups. Excellent tissue tolerance was confirmed histologically in the vitallium hip. However, the long-term accumulation effects of Co-Cr-Mo on the body need further study.
