Abstract
One hundred and seventy-two cases of deep cerebral hemisphere infarction identified by CT and classified into 8 types according to the location were reported. The lesions of nfarction had a greater tendency to affect the areas where the arterial terminal supply was nvolved. Watershed infarction (WC) was noticed and it was considered that the deep larger esions were closely related to the internal carotid arterial supply. The clinical features of ach type were analysed and complex symptoms without lacunar syndrome were noted in some atients. Low cerebral local perfusion as the pathophysiologic mechanism was discussed. It is oteworthy that low perfusion may cause an obvious disorder of cerebral function and it is not ecessarily the cerebral infarction detected by CT.
