Characteristic of Chinese statistical Software CHISS2010 and its evaluation

Objective To study the quality of CHISS statistical software used in teaching of medical statistics. Methods The quality of CHISS statistical software was analyzed according to its use in 300 students and sampling investigation in 1 200 students who used it with a questionnaire. Results Of the students who used the CHISS,90.91% held that it was well designed,92.32% considered that it was rather easy to operate,92.73% expressed that it could meet their needs in scientific research,93.56% thought that its function was powerful,and 88% admitted that its stability was good,with a satisfaction rate of 92.46%.CHISS was considered advantageous over other soft-wares by 86.45% of students who used it（P＜0.05）. Conclusion CHISS is easy to operate with a powerful statistical function,and can thus meet the needs of medical statistics teaching and data analysis in scientific research.
