A REPORT OF 4 ADULT ACUTE LEUKEMIC PATIENTS

Since 1971,there have been 4 adult acute leukemia patients,3 AML and 1 ALL, with long-term remission in the hospital,living for 12 years,10 years,9.2 years and 9 years respectively.Combine chemotherapy regimens with COAP,DIP,ADP,LOP etc.were employed,leading to complete remisson after 3-5 courses of therapy followed by maintenance therapy for 5.2-8 years together with preventive measures for CNS leukemia for 4-6.3 years.Nonspecific immunotherapy was used intermittently for 4-6 years.Up to september 1983,they are still in good condition with normal bone marrow pictures and peripheral blood counts.Assays for E-rosette forming cell,lymphocytic tra- nsforming rates and ~3H-TdR labelled indexes gave normal values.Karyotypes were nor- mal in 3 of them,but abnormal in 1 with 88% of 45 XX.Marrow GM-CFC was 13.5±1.5-18.0±3.5/2×10~5 nucleated cells in single layer soft agar gel culture.Some marrow cells from these patients were found being abnormal in structure and morphology under electron microscopy.Two of them had given birth to child at the 4th and 11th year of complete remission respectively.
