Strategies for mass burn casualties complicated with inhalation injury transferred from a distance

Objective:To sum up the experiences of strategies for mass burn casualties complicated with inhalation injury transferred from a distance.Methods:Thirty five patients complicated with inhalation injury,which occurred in north of Heilongjiang province,1600 km north to Beijing,transferred to Beijing by air successfully.The experiences was analyzed on making the transportation scheme,medical and material preparations before lift and medical care during the transportation.Results:As a result of sufficient preparations before the transportation and intensive care on the way,all the 35 patients were safely transferred to the destination.Conclusion:To treat the life-threatening complications immediately any broaden the indications of tracheotomy appropriately,grasp the optimal opportunity to carry out transportation,lay the wounded in the aircraft according to the condition of injury and ensure the severe wounded concentrated,close to the medical staffs in order to observe and treat them conveniently,shorten the links interval and arrange the whole procedure of transportation comprehensively and thoroughly are the keys to ensure the safety during the long distance transportation.
