Abstract
A consecutive 10 years survey on the incidence of cholelithiasis in a group of 4176 cases elderly was carried out by us yearly or biennially ie, altogether 27340 times, through B mode ultrasoundgraphy. Among these, 54 cases with such disease was found in the group of 425 cases whose ages was younger than 59 years old, positive rate was 10.18 per cent. And it was found that the incidence of cholelithiasis was higher when the age was older, ie, the positive rate was 14.94%(322/2156)in the 60-69 years old group, 18.76%(278/1482)in 70-79 years old group, 27.52%(30/109)in 80-89 years old group and 50%(2/4)in the group whose ages were older than 90 years old. Two cases with carcinoma of cholecyst were found, after the gallstone confirmed 11 months and 21 months, respectively, the incidence of cancer of cholecyst was 0.29% in the patients with gallstone. Therefore, aging is one of the major risk factors for the gallstone formation, and it's incidence increases according to the age increased in the elderly significantly.
