Noninvasive evaluation of Left ventricular diastolic performance in coronary artery disease——By digitized M-mode and Pulsed-Doppler echocardiographic methods

  • M-mode and pulsed-Doppler echocardiographic (PD) derived indexes of left ventricular LV) diastolic function were not significantly different from normal control patients with oninfarcted coronary heart disease and angina pectoris (AP), indicating normal resting global V diastolic function in AP patients. The PD derived indexes of LV diastolic filling were ignificantly lower in patients with infarcted coronary heart disease when compared to normal ontrols, indicating impaired LV diastolic function in patients with infarcted coronary heart isease. The PD appears to be superior to M-mode echocardiography since it is independent of LV eometry and more sensitive to alterations in LV diastolic function.
