Abstract
Objective To improve the diagnosis and treatment of cystitis glandularis by studying its clinical features. Methods Clinical data about 20 cystitis glandularis patients admitted to our center were retrospectively analyzed and experiences with its diagnosis and treatment were summarized. Results Cystitis glandularis was diagnosed in the 20 patients by cystoscopy and biopsy, respectively, before operation.Of the 20 patients,15 underwent transurethral electric excision,2 and 3 received partial cystectomy and conservative treatment, respectively. All patients underwent bladder perfusion therapy after operation.Cystitis glandularis recurred and progressed to malignancy in 1 patient 6 months after operation and cured in the other 19 patients. Conclusion Cystoscopy in combination with biopsy is of great importance for the diagnosis of cystitis glandularis, which tends to become malignant.Transurethral electric excision in combination with drug perfusion is an effective treatment modality for cystitis glandularis when obstruction of bladder outlet and stimulation of foreign body are excluded.
