Clinical diagnosis of compressive myelopathy

100 cases of compressive myelopathy admitted in the past 12 yrs to our neurological service were analysed.There were 69 males and 31 females with a ratio of 2.2:1,aged from 14—76 years.Among them,CSF examination was performed in 100 cases,FMG examination,in 52 cases, and surgical operation with pathological examination in 58 cases.As to the etiology,was present spondylopathy was present 63 cases,spinal tumor,in 19,congenital malformation in 9, spinal arachinoditic in 7 cases and epidural abscess,in 2 cases.CSF and myelographic findings, as a whole,is of prime importance in the early diagnosis of this condition.We also mentioned ten main points for the pathophysilogical characteristics of the spinal canal disease.
