Experimental study on selective camptothecin microsphere’s arterial emboliza-tion for bladder carcinoma

The femoral artery of rabbit is embolizated by camptothecin（CPT）microsphere;The anticancer drug camptothecin is detected with high-performance liquid chromatography（HPLC）.It is found that the intraarterial embolization route,when compared to the intraarterial infusion route,for the administration of chelnotherapeutic agent Camptothecin,increases the concentraton of CPT presented to local area by approximately nine times.But the CPT is not detected in the plasma.Histologic exan1ination show that the musculus and femoral artery at the embolization area are degenerative and necrotic.
