The surgical therapy of Meniere’s disease

Objective:the aim was to evaluated effect of opertion of meniere's disease for proximate 20 years. Methods:The complains, results of examination and they effects were investigated for the 30 cases （33 ears） with retrospective analyses. Results:The sixty percent out of patients initial symptoms starded with typical Meniere's triad, either initial symptoms starded with vertigo attacks or hearing loss combined with tinnitus were 6 cases respectively. The auditory functions showed that: over moderatly severe hearing impairment were 26 cases （86.6%）, ECochG-SP/AP≥0.37 were 80%,75% glyceol test evidenced postive reaction. The canal paresis were 93.3% in caloric test. The contral vertigo and auditory sensitivety were separately calculated, the follow-up time were 2-20 years after treatment. The complete control of vertigo were 18 ears （54.5%） substantial control were 5 ears （15.2%）. Limited control and uneffect were 9.1% and 21.2% respectively. The hearing improvement were only 2 ears, another hearing unchanged and worse. Conclusion:The effective rate of vertiginous control were 78.8% in the surgical treatment of Menisere’s disease.
