Protection of novel antioxidant U74389G against acute renal failure induced by gly-cerine in mice:A preliminary experimentation

  • In this paper we evaluated the efficacy of a novel antioxidant U743s9G in the preservation of renal function in animal model of aucte renal failure (ARF)induced by intramuscularly injectied glycerine(11.6 mg/kg)in mice The results showed that the level of malondialdehydes(MDA)in serum and renal cortex were greatly reduced by pretreatment with the antioxidant of U74389G and the pathological lesion of the renal tubulointerstitium were also alleviated.There were significant difference in the serum leval of creatinine be-tween the therapeutic group and controls(80.16±16.62 vs 118.06±20.83μmol/L,P<0.05).It is conclud-ed that the U74389G treatment may reduce the severity of acute renal tubulointerstitial darnage induced by glyc-erine injection in mice.
