Abstract
Objective To study the sonographic features of intrauterine fetal residues diagnosed by color doppler ultrasound. Methods Intrauterine fetal residues were detected in 178 patients with postabortal or lower abdominal pain associated with irregular bleeding by transvaginal sonography(TVS)and transabdominal sonography(TAS)using the GE LOGIQ5 color ultrasonic diagnostic set. Results Of the 178 patients after medical abortion, intrauterine residues were detected in 75(42.1%),remnant chorion and old fetal tissues were detected in 64(35.9%),and tissue fragments, blood clots and inflammatory exudation were detected in 39(21.9%).The accurate rate was 100%. Conclusion Color doppler ultrasound can detect vaginal bleeding and plays an important role in the diagnosis of intrauterine residues.
