Rapid radioimmunoassay for measurement of human growth hormone (HGH) in serum

  • A rapid method of radioimmunoassay for measurement of serum HGH was described in this paper. It took only 28 hours when this procedure was used, being at least one day shorter than that performed conventionally. The recoveries were ranged from 98 to 102 percent, and the sensitivity 0.3 ng/ml. There was a good correlation between logit (B/B0) and relative points of standard. concentions (r=-0.9996, P<0.01; Y=-2.4250, X=2.7250). The coefficients of intrassy avariation were 8.7, 4.7, 3.7 Percent and the interassay variation Were 4.7, 9.5, 8.1 percent for 2.5, 10 and 40 ng/ml added standard in serum, respectively. The results of measurement by the rapid assay were in 108 subjects comparable with those of conventional assay, indicating that the results of the two assays were similar (P>0.7) and significantly correlated (r=0.963, P< 0.01). This method of assay is rapid, reliable as well as sensitive and may be suitably applied in clinical practice.
