Use of mandible itself for restoration of defects of the mandible

In this paper,the author presented a series of cases in which the mandible itself is used for repairing defects of mandible with exceedingly satisfactory results both in contour and function.At least in our recent clinical experience,we found equally good results were either with mandible or with ilium grafts.It is vindicated,therefore,that the mandible itself is a good donor source for autogenous bone grafts.The details of the operation are described and discussed in this article.
