Abstract
Objective: To elucidate the effect of postoperative immune enteral nutrient on immune function of gastrointestinal(GI) cancer patients. Methods: Sixty patients with GI cancer were divided into two groups: IMPACT group,NUTRISON group They were all given each enteral nutrition which provides 104 6 kJ (25 kcal)/(kg.d) for 10.days after digestive tract surgery plasma protein,IgA,IgG,IgM,total lymphocyte count, peripheral blood T lymphocyte subset were measured in the day before operation and on the 11 th postoperative day. Results: In IMPACT group, plasma protein were increased (P<0.005) and the indexes of immune function were improved significantly. Conclusion: enteral nutrient IMPACT helps to ameliorate the immune function of postoprative GI cancer patients better than NUTRISON.
