Abstract
Objective To investigate difference of Prothrombin time derived fibrinogen compared to Clauss Fibrinogen in clinical samples. Methods Plasma fibrinogen level in 137 patients was measured by Clauss assay and PT-derived assay, respectively.Fibrinogen level measured by Clauss assay was further divided into <1.99g/L,2-2.99g/L,3-4g/L and >4g/L,and analyzed by Student t test and correlation analysis, respectively. Results The fibrinogen level measured by PT-derived assay was higher than that measured by Clauss assay(P<0.05). Conclusion PT-derived assay cannot replace Clauss assay in measuring fibrinogen in clinical settings.Clauss assay is more suitable for the clinical diagnosis and treatment.
