Studies on the serum SARS-CoV(IgG)antibody level in 2132 cases of different population

  • Objective:to evaluate the clinical significance of the measurement of serum SARS-CoV(IgG)antibody.Methods:The serum SARS-CoV antibody have been measured in different population by both ELISA method and biochips technique,to analyze the difference between SARS and other diseaseas. Results:The positive rate of SARS-CoV(IgG)in convalescent SARS cases, nephropathy, cancer, pulmonary diseases, diabetes and other diseases were 75.6%(118/156)、29.3%(22/75)、22.3% (19/85)、22.7%(10/44)、13.6%(8/59) respectively, both 500healthy population and 500close contact medical staff in xiao tang shan hospital were negative ,which were measured by ELISA method. The biochips results indicated that convalescent - SARS cases have a positive rate of 86% and only 4 cases have positive SARS-CoV antibody in 62cases which have positive results by ELISA.Conclusion:Measurement of SARS-CoV antibody is a helpful marker to diagnosis recent SARS-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) infection.Biochips technique has better specificity and sensitivity than ELISA.
