Abstract
Objectives: To observe the changes of peripheral dendritic cells subsets consecutively in patients with chronic hepatitis B during Consensus Interferon(CIFN) treatment. Methods: Twenty-three patients with chronic hepatitis B were treated with CIFN for 24 weeks and followed up for another 24 weeks. After CIFN withdrawal,During CIFN treatment peripheral dendritic cell subsets were measured. Results: After CIFN treatment,43.5% patients obtained virological and biochemical responses. The percentage and absolute number of peripheral type I and Ⅱdendritic cells decreased greatly(All P<0.05).Conclusions:Consistent virological and biochemical response can be obtained in some patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infection after CIFN treatment, and the percentage and number of peripheral type I and Ⅱdendritic cells are greatly decreased too.
