Blood chemistry study in donors after single collection of blood by the use of H-M 30 model corpuscle separator

To our knowledge,the study of blood chemistry in donors after a single collection of blood. using the H-M 30 model corpuscle separator,has not been reported in our country,although such accounts have been occurred in current international literature. In order to use H-M 30 model corpuscle separator safely and to guarantee the health of dor- nor,we made an investigation on changes of plasma protein,electrolytes and blood O₂ in 100 ran- domly selected donors under conditions of using 2 kinds of anticoagulants and circulating 4—8 ti- mes in a period of 2—3 hours.The results indicated that although certain changes did occur in blood chemistry of the donors,yet all these changes were within normal range and temporary.As soon as the single collection of blood was ended,they resumed the pre-transfusion levels in a very short thime.Thus this procedure appears to be fairly safe and reliable to the donors.On the other hand,it should also be pointed out that owing to the fact that HES may remain in the blood for as long as several months,its potential toxicity should be considered if it is used for a long period or repeatedly.Meanwhile.an allergic reaction to it also should be taken into consideration.
