Exploration on the prevention and treatment for complications of tension-free hernia repair

Objective:To explore the cause and treatment for complications of the tension-free hernia repair.Methods: The clinical data of 5878 patients treated by tension-free hernia repair were retrospectively analyzed.Results: There were 512 cases of complications in all patients,included urinary rention（280 cases,4.8%）,scrotal hydrocele（110 cases,1.8%）,incision colliquation（45 cases,0.8%）,long-time pain（25 cases,0.4%）,infection of incision（8 cases,0.1%）,ischemic orchitis（7 cases,0.1%）,recurrence（37 cases,0.6%）.Conclusions:Tension-free hernia repair has most adventages,such as easier surgical performance,quicker recovery,fewer complications and lower recurrence. Most complications could be prevented if the cause of complications are known.
