A Retrospective Study of 18 Misdiagnosed Cases of Non-traumatic Cerebral Hemorrhage

  • In a series of 101 autopsies of massive non-traumatic cerebral hemorrhage, the lack of clinico-pathological correspondence in the nature and location of lesions was found in 18 cases. Negligence, improper evaluation of.clinical data, incorrect use of accessory diagnostic procedures, and inadequate examination due to poor condition of the patient were considered to be the main causes of erroneous diagnosis. Various factors leading to confusion between cerebral hemorrhage and occlusive cerebral vascular disease, and the diagnostic features of cerebellar hemorrhage are discussed.
