Changes of bile bilirubins and their composition in cholelithiasia patients

In this paper,the major four types of bile bilirubins in cholelithiatic patients and normal subjects which were determined by the thin-layer chromatographic method were described.The results showed that the total amount of bilirubins was decreased in cholelithiasis,contents of four types of bilirubin were not significantly differents between the cholesterol stone patients and the normal controls;but UCB （unconjugated bilirubin） and MCB （monoconiugated bilirubin） were sig- nificantly increased in the pigment stone patients as compared with those in the the normal per- sons and cholesterol stone patients.Further study of these results suggested that the increase in UCB and MCB was due to both hepatic and after-hepatic factors.
