Clinical distribution and drug sensitivity analysis of Acinetobacter baumannii

Objective To understand clinical distribution and drug-resistance features of Acinetobacter baumannii. Methods We analysed the treatment of Acinetobacter baumannii from venous blood specimen of the hospitalized patients in our hospital from February 2008 to October 2009 and the distribution of department and pathogen of Acinetobacter baumannii statistically.As the empirical treatment coincided with drug sensitivity results or not,specimen were divided into 2 groups and the cure rate was compared. Results The positive rates of specimen from intensive care unit and department of hepatobiliary surgery were 40.91% and 22.73% respectively.The drug sensitive test showed the resistance rates of Cefoperazone/Sulbactam,Ampicillin/Sullbactam,Imipenem and Meropenem to Acinetobacter baumannii were 47.6%,72.7% and 81.8% separately.7 empirical treatment agreed with drug sensitivity results and the effective rate was 85.71%;7 empirical treatment didn′t agree with drug sensitivity results and the effective rate was 57.14%. Conclusion Acinetobacter baumannii was common in intensive care unit.If treatment was on the basis of drug sensitivity results,it was of significance to the clinical treatment of Acinetobacter baumannii.
