The treatment of repairing residual root

Objective: In order to explore the preservative methods of residual roots,the short residual root cases were analysis and the prosthetic design and their indications were summarized. Methods: 25 short residual roots in 19 patients were treated with procelain fused to metal crowns and cantilever or rigid resin-bonded fixed partial denture with etched metal wing. Result: The short residual root can be restored satisfied with prosthetic design. After 1-2 years of treatment,the prosthesis works well and the patients were satisfied. Conclusion: Even short residual roots can be preserved after reasonable design and treatment.
