An analysis of therapeutic effects in 120 cases of elderly patients with lung cancer

The therapeutic effects in 120 cases of elderly patients with lung cancer were analysed. The 3-year and 5-year survival rates were 69.4% and 54.4% respectively in the post operative group, which are higher than or close to those reported in our country or abroad, The 3-year and 5-year survival rates were 14.9% and 10.0% respectively in the non-operative and comprehensive treatment group, much lower than that of the operative group, In order to increase the survival rates in the aged patients with lung cancer, early operation or comprehensive treatment with operation in chief was particularly emphasized. Other non-operative comprehensive methods and measures for raising the therapentic effects were also discussed.
