Clinical analysis of incidence of post lumbar puncture headache with its correlative factors in 230 cases

Diagnostic lumbar puncture was performed in 230 outpatients, with post-lumbar puncture headache （PLPH） in 33 cases （9 men and 24 women）. The incidence of PLPH in women （25%） was higher remarkably than that in man （6.7%） （P＜0.001）. The incidence in the younger adults differed significantly from that in the older （P＜0.05）. The results also showed that the PLPH incidence had no correlation with the season, terminal pressure of cerebrospinal fluid and intake of water.
