Abstract
Objective To investigate the prevalence of abnormal glucose metabolism(AGM)in patients with coronary artery disease(CAD). Methods Oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)was performed for 315 patients with CAD but for those with known diabetes mellitus(DM)admitted to our department in June 2009-September 2009.Postprandial 2h blood glucose and glycohemoglobin levels in DM patients were measured. Results The prevalence of AGM,DM,IFG or GT in CAD patients was 84.8%,50.5%,and 34.3%,respectively. Conclusion The majority of patients with CAD have AGM.OGTT contributes to the early detection and intervention of CAD and AGM.
