Abstract
Clinical and hemodynamic studies were performed in patients with heart failure with a purpose of evaluating the immediate effects of Amrinone. 10 patients aged 42—63 years received one dose of amrinone, 1 mg/kg intravenously for evaluation of the shortterm therapeutic effects in congestive heart failure (5 coronary, 2 hypertensive heart disease and 3 congestive cardiomyopathy). The results showed that the cardiac output increased 32.8% (P<0.01), PCWP declined 45.3% (P<0.001) No sigificant changes in HR and Bp were found.A Comparative study of serum and RBC cAMP levels were studied coincidently with hemodynamic monitoring. During treatment only 2 patients developed mild transient thrombocytopenia and recovered one week later.
