Treatment of low back pain secondary to pelvic obliquity with chiropractic manipulation in combination with spinal adjusting instrument

Objective To explore the therapeutic effects of chiropractic manipulation on low back pain secondary to pelvic obliquity. Methods The patients at a lateral position were treated with a spinal adjusting instrument at a high speed and a low-amplitude following each chiropractic manipulation for the pain in the low back and sacral region,based on a comprehensive evaluation of medical record,X-ray and clinical examinations. Results The pain in the low back and sacral region of 13 patients relieved or disappeared after treatment.The difference in height of adjacent iliac crest was（1.73±0.61）cm and（0.28±0.10）cm,respectively,before and after treatment. Conclusion The difference in height of adjacent iliac crest is an effective and convenient index for pelvic lesion and its therapeutic effect.Chiropractic technique combined with spinal adjusting instrument has significant effects on low back pain secondary to pelvic obliquity.
