Effects of propofol and other intraveneous anesthetics on the rat spleen lympho-cyte proliferative function

We studied the effects of propofol and some other intraveneous anesthetics on lymphocyte prolifer-ative function of rat spleen,No significant change was found in propofol group.On contrary,thiopentoneproduced an obvious inhibition effect（P＜0.01）,which was even more prominent in young animals than inthe old.The suppression of lymphocyte function may be related with IL-2.
