Significance of vaginal microecological balance for therapy of bacterial vaginosis

  • Objective: To study the value of the maintenance of the state of endovaginal microecological balance to therapy the bacterial vaginosis. Methods: Based on the standard of Amsel, 32 patients(among these patients 2 were losed)who were diagnosed for bacterial vaginosis were divided into 4 groups according to the section-random project:Lactobacilli capsule singly, lactobacilli capsule associated with metronidazole, first Lactobacilli capsule then metronidazole. Results: All patients of the 4 groups will be re-examinated respectively after withdrawal 3days and there is no significantly difference(P>0.05)among their clinical symptoms and laboratory examination. Lactobacilli Counting in group 1、 2、 4 is more than in group 3 after withdrawal 1 month and It is significantly different(P=0.0005)acorroding to statistics. There are no significantly difference(P>0.05)among the other items of laboratory examination and clinical symptoms(P>0.05). Conclusions: (1) There is direct correlation between the reduction of the quantity of vaginal Lactobacilli and the occurrence and reoccurence of bacterial vaginosis. (2) To treat bacterial vaginosis the method of therapeutics in the group 1, 2 and 4 is better than the one in group 3. (3) To maintain the microecological balance of vaginosis is valuable for treating bacterial vaginosis.
