The construction of nultiple selective verbal reminding test

Four matched forms of selective verbsl reminding test were constructed for clinical assessment of learning and memory. After more than 500 tests in 135 cases it was found that there was a close correlation and consistency between forms and sequences, and the normal and abnormal values were proposed for further study. This test has been proved to be simple, quick, reliable and valid and clinically useful for analyzing learning ability and the nature of the patient’s impaired memory. In addition, it can make simultsneous analysis of storage, retention and retrieval during learning and distinguish list learning form item learning, so that disordered memory learning can be analyzed in terms of two stages of learning. This method also can provide an evaluation for effect of memory enhancers.
