Study on the clinical factors related to hemodialytic hypotension in patients with maintaining hemodialysis

  • Objective: To study the clinical factors related to hemodialytic hypotension in patients with maintaining hemodialysis. Methods: The association of ultrafiltration with the incidence of hypotension during hemodialysis were investigated in 114 uremic patients and total 6431 dialysis treatments. The effects of age, sex, plasma albumin hemoglobin, KT/V, TACurea and different dialysis membranes were also investigated. Results: The incidence of hemodialysis hypotension in our data was 7.03%. More ultrafiltration increased the intradialytic hypotensive risk, with a significant positive correlation. Multiple factors analysis showed that patients, who were old, female and dialyzed inadequately, were more prone to suffer from hypotensive episodes. Conclusion: To prevent hypotension during dialysis, patients should be counseled to limit their interdialysis weight gain and dialyzed adequately.
