Three cases of malignant mixed mesodermal tumors

Malignant mixed mesodermal tumor of ovary is very rare and is generally a lethal umor. It constitutes less than 1% of all primary ovarian cancer up to date. 299 such cases ave een reported in the English literature, but only 5 cases in Ghina. 3 cases of the tumors rised in the ovary, including 2 cases of mixed mesodermal tumors with heterologous sarcomatous ontents and 1 case of adenosarcoma, are reported in this paper. A review of the literature and iscussion with regard to term, histogenesis, classification, clinical features, prognosis and reatment are presented. The most likely origin of these tumors is the multi-potential cells of he coelomic epithelium. This is a kind of tumor which may occur in many systems of the body. he prognosis was related to stage at the time of diagnosis and to the degree of surgical esection. The proper program of treatment is aggressive surgical removal followed by hemotherapy, or radiation in combination.
