The inpatients′ knowledge and preventive sense of hepatitis B

Objective: Developing the health education on hepatitis B among patients in a general hospital.Methods: Total 208 inpatients from the departments of internal medicine, surgery and gynecology were examined before and after receiving health education on hepatitis B. The questionaire mainly included their knowledge and attitude on hepatitis B. After the health education, their knowledge of hepatitis B and the preventive sense changed markedly.Results: Except for patients with hepatitis B most of them had little knowledge and no preventive sense of hepatitis B, but had many wrong thoughts. Conclusion: The results show it is very essential to develop health education on hepatitis B among people. It is benefit for carrying out the police of “put prevention first” and “Everyone share medical welfare in the year of 2000”.
