Combined Operative Approach to Resect Giant Craniopharyngiomas

The combined operative approaches were used to resect giant craniopharyngiomas in 7 patients. Total removal of the tumors was underwent in 4 of 7 patients. None of them were aead. The tumors were divided two types according to extension of them. The combined subfrontal-pterional-subtemporal approach should be chosen for transversal extension of the tumors and the combined subfrontallaterl ventricular approach for longitudinal extension of the tumors. It is possible even for giant craniopharyngioma to be resected completely by combined approach with microneurosurgical skill.
