Investigation of lumbar disc herniation in nurses

Objective To investigate the incidence of lumbar disc herniation（LDH） in nurses. Methods The incidence of LDH in 230 nurses was investigated using questionnaires. Results The incidence of LDH in 230 nurses was 17.83%.The older the nurses were,the higher the incidence of LDH was.The incidence of LDH was higher in nurses of chief wards than in nurses of general wards. Conclusion Nurses,especially those responsible for more bedridden patients,should pay more attention to LDH.
