Clinical observation on premature ventricular contraction (PVC) in 45 children with viral myocarditis

PVC is the commonest one of arrhythmias in children with viral myocarditis.In the past few years,we met 45 cases of such condition.To study its clinical characteristics,we divided them into 4 groups and compared with those in cases of congenital heart diseases without myocardial damage but subjected to cardiac catheterization.The results of the study suggested that PVC of the upper ventricular part requires longer treatment and its prognosis is poorer as compared with that of the cardiac apex.In one patient the treatment lasted for 5 years without complete cure. On the other hand,Rosenboum’s PVC usualy does not cause myocardial damage.When prematury index PI equals to or smaller than 1 the prognosis is usualy bad.
